Language Pavilion MeM - Livingroom of languages

Part of Lân fan taal is language pavilion MeM, also known as livingroom of languages. MeM is the ideal place where the public can become acquainted with the diversity of language communities from Europe, The Netherlands and Leeuwarden.

The pavilion is the meeting place for language communities in Lân fan taal. The Frisian language plays an important role in this. At fixed times during the week, performances and other activities will be timetabled. The space has an open, inviting and warm character, so people will be happy to spend time here.

In the pavilion, attention will be paid to for instance:
- The regional cuisine (with for example, multilingual menus and multicultural menus)
- The artistic and creative identity of the region (with for example music and related activities from the various regions

In this way, the language diversity in Europe will be presented to a broad public and people will become aware of the richness of that diversity and language diversity in The Netherlands and Europe.
